Foundation for Climate Change Action
Working towards a climate resilient future through Disruptive Technologies
The Foundation for Climate Change Action (FOCCA) is a non-profit organization with the mission to support action towards a low-carbon, climate-resilient and sustainable community, and at a larger scale, a sustainable planet.
Our goals are to promote climate change mitigation and adaptation actions, foster sustainable development and build resilience of our communities through the dissemination of knowledge, capacity building and education. To achieve this goal we aim to encourage the application of innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and remote sensing. These tools will allow for the acceleration of information availability and facilitate the implementation and monitoring of climate efforts.
We aim to diminish the gap in knowledge and data availability on climate change mitigation and adaptation results while increasing knowledge sharing, raising awareness and enhancing education with focus on climate change vulnerabilities and impacts through innovative and disruptive technologies, and particularly on vulnerable groups, such as Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, women and female-identifying and destitute populations; and in specific sectors such as fishing, agriculture, forestry, and vulnerable ecosystems among others.
We are committed to supporting activities in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region through climate change education, knowledge sharing and data gathering through the utilization of artificial intelligence technologies and opportunities.
We are dedicated to stepping out our efforts to promote climate innovation, specially through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, as a key tool for climate change mitigation and adaptation actions in sectors such as energy efficiency, climates risks, agriculture, water and forestry. We are always striving to make a difference and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
FOCCA is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving one of our society’s biggest challenges. We work to diminish the gap and bring climate information to minority groups and most vulnerable communities, specially latinx and indigenous groups, helping them understand climate vulnerabilities and impacts. Contact out team and learn how you can support us.
Through our knowledge hub, we aim to promote open data access and knowledge sharing and aim to provide key performance indicators for companies and organizations allowing comparisons, benchmarking and target-setting solutions Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause. Education and Capacity Building
Our goal is to contribute to community resilience by promoting capacity building, education, and sharing of skills and abilities regarding climate change action. With access to the right resources people become empowered by their own abilities, gan confidence to fulfill their potential and became parte of the change. Learn more.
We promote collaboration with other organizations interested in supporting our mission and efforts, specially with related resources in the areas of artificial intelligence applications on climate change, knowledge platforms, environmental innovation and education.
If you are interested in collaborating, you can contact us here.
Taking action in Climate Change is our obligation, for us and for our future generations. Through the promotion and dissemination of climate change innovative tools, open data and education, we can and will make a difference. Spreading the word and getting this knowledge closer to those most affected is our commitment.
